Abderrahmane Sissako named President of int’l competition jury of Golden Apricot film festival

Abderrahmane Sissako, the Mauritanian award-winning filmmaker, laureate of Cannes Film Festival, César and many more, has been named as President of the International Competition Jury of the 22nd Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival, organizers announced.

Sissako is one of the most profound voices in world cinema, known for his deep humanism, compassion, pursuit of justice, and advocacy for tolerance, organizers of the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival said in a press release. 

“For the first time in its history, Golden Apricot will honor an African filmmaker,” it added.

The 22nd Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival will take place July 13-20.
