Business magnate Samvel Karapetyan jailed

A court has approved a motion to remand business magnate Samvel Karapetyan in pre-trial detention for two months, his lawyers announced late Wednesday. Karapetyan will appeal the ruling, they said.

The businessman and owner of the Tashir Group is accused of “publicly calling for usurping power.” He has denied wrongdoing.
