The Armenian government has assessed the possible regional risks pertaining to the Iranian-Israeli escalation, Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan has said.
Simonyan said the government discussed the possible risks after Israel began its military campaign Friday.
“We discussed not only possible actions by Azerbaijan, but also possible developments in Iran itself, on our borders. I have to say that there’s been no flow from Iran, no such thing has taken place on our border. We are in contact with our international partners and at this moment I have nothing else to add,” he said.
Asked how the Iranian-Israeli conflict could affect the Armenian-Azeri peace process, he said, “At this moment there are no concerns that it could somehow impact our relations with Azerbaijan because our conversation continues, and there are concrete processes underway, and we haven’t seen such a thing.”
