Iran-Israel: Many uncertainties regarding possible economic fallout, says Armenian finance minister

The Armenian finance ministry hasn’t yet developed an analysis of various possible scenarios regarding the potential economic consequences of the Iranian-Israeli conflict, finance minister Vahe Hovhannisyan has said.

“There are still many uncertainties,” he said in parliament when asked by an MP about possible economic consequences for Armenia amid the Israeli-Iranian escalation.

“The assumptions in the scenarios can deviate a lot. Whenever we feel that the impact is concrete and visible, then naturally we will submit the relevant analysis to the government,” the finance minister said.

Israel launched what it calls Operation Rising Lion against Iran's nuclear facilities in the early hours of Friday, calling it a preemptive strike designed to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Iran has denied plans to develop such weapons. Tehran retaliated by launching counterstrikes on Israel.
