Armenia continues to work to bring its share of stability to the region by advancing the agenda of peace, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan has said.
Speaking at a panel discussion during the APRI 2025 Finding Stability in an Unstable World forum, Grigoryan said Armenia views its agenda of peace as the main tool for responding to threats.
He was asked on the main threats facing Armenia and what the country does to withstand them. Grigoryan said every country in the world prioritizes security.
“The main threat to Armenia’s security continues to be the classic security threat, that is, the military threat not only against Armenia but in the whole region. Armenia continues to work to be able to bring its share of stability to the region by advancing the agenda of peace. Of course, there are difficulties, but peace remains our agenda, and we see the agenda of peace to be the main tool for reacting to the threats,” Grigoryan said, adding that there are processes outside the region that are beyond Armenia’s control.
He said Armenia prioritizes stability in working with partners.
He reminded that the terms of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan have been finalized and currently the sides are negotiating the timeframes for signing it.
“We hope that the signing of the peace agreement will take place as soon as possible,” the Secretary said.
Grigoryan attached importance to dialogue between regional countries when asked about Armenia’s steps for establishing stability.
