High-Tech Industry Minister, Nokia executive discuss cooperation

Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan has met with Nokia executives led by Senior Vice President Rolf Werner.

Mkhitaryan said he discussed the strategic priority directions in the high-tech sector, the state support programs and initiatives aimed at developing the area with special emphasis on mutually beneficial cooperation and partnership with esteemed multinational companies.

Ucom representatives also attended the meeting.

Werner is visiting Armenia at the invitation of Ucom, Mkhitaryan said.

“In this context I underscored the progress and achievements resulting from the effective cooperation between Nokia and Ucom in the context of introducing new technological solutions and digital tools. In turn, Rolf Werner said that a productive and reliable cooperation has been established with Armenian companies,” Mkhitaryan said in a statement on social media.

The meeting also covered other issues of mutual interest, particularly the possibility of viewing Armenia as a potential partner for AI, digital transformation and scientific-research work. Mkhitaryan said they reached agreements on upcoming actions.
