Armenian President, UN Convention on Biological Diversity executive secretary discuss COP17

President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan has met with Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity within the framework of the third UN Ocean Conference in France.

The discussion focused on COP17 which will be held in Armenia in 2026.

The importance of major international events such as the COP17 was highlighted in terms of promoting international cooperation to tackle environmental and global challenges.

The President reiterated Armenia’s commitment to organize COP17 on the highest level, highlighting that hosting the platform is a great honor and a responsible mission, the president’s office said in a press release.
