As of April 2025, the number of waged jobs in Armenia was 783,547, a 44,7% growth compared to April 2018, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament on Wednesday.
He said the number has surpassed the previous record-high of 782,832 of November 2024.
“In April 2025 a new historic record was set: 783,547 paid jobs, which is higher by 242,119 or 44,7% than the 2018 April figure. Thus, 242,119 new jobs have been created in Armenia since the 2018 revolution,” PM Pashinyan said at a budget execution report.
He said the average salary growth was around 130,000 drams in the period.
In April 2018 the average monthly salary was 173,596, whereas as of April this year it stood at 304,992 drams (75% growth). The aggregate inflation was 25%, which means the real wage growth has been ahead of inflation.
Pashinyan said the figures show that today people are living better than in or before 2018.
He said the total payroll grew significantly.
“In April 2018 the total payroll fund of registered jobs in Armenia was 94 billion 206 million drams. This is the total of all registered salaries. In April 2025, this figure, compared to April 2018, grew by 144 billion drams or 153%,” the PM said.
“Basically, it is difficult to even comment on this number. The difference isn’t only about less or more, this is a difference between a state and non-state,” he said.
