Deputy PM Mher Grigoryan said on May 28 that Armenia is strengthening its sovereignty through the ongoing delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan.
“We are strengthening our sovereignty and reducing vulnerability with delimitation,” he told reporters.
“The delimitation process will continue from the corner of the border with Georgia until the corner of the border with Iran. I hope it is conducted in accordance with the regulation. I don’t think dangers will emerge,” he said.
Grigoryan said the signing of the peace treaty and the territorial delimitation are parallel processes and neither is grounds for implementing the other.
The timeframes for the next meeting of the border delimitation commissions isn’t determined yet.
