Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, the PM's office has said in a readout.
Prime Minister Pashinyan welcomed the visit of the French Foreign Minister to Armenia, emphasizing the high level of relations between Armenia and France. He noted that deep and strong bilateral cooperation in various fields is of great importance.
According to Pashinyan, this stance was reaffirmed during his recent meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Tirana.
For his part, Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized France’s unwavering support for Armenia’s development and capacity-building. He noted that France is ready to further deepen and expand its relations with Armenia, including in the political and economic spheres.
Barrot also congratulated Prime Minister Pashinyan on the upcoming European Political Community summit to be held in Armenia next year.
According to the official statement, the parties discussed issues related to infrastructure development, attracting investments, and implementing new joint programs.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments, including the latest progress in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement.
Prime Minister Pashinyan once again emphasized the Armenian government’s commitment to the peace agenda.
