It is time to sign Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement – French Foreign Minister

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has reaffirmed France’s unwavering support for Armenia.

“France also continues to stand by the displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and by Armenia. When I speak of France, I also speak of the deputies, seven of whom are with me today because parliamentary diplomacy plays a key role in bilateral relations.

Civil society in France is also mobilizing in support of Armenia. I have come to reaffirm France's support, which, according to President Macron, must be stable, comprehensive, and unwavering,” Barrot stated during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

He added that France supports the difficult negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, through which the text of the peace agreement between the two countries has already been agreed upon.

“I would like to emphasize the courage of Prime Minister Pashinyan. It is time to sign and ratify the agreement.This is what France, the United States and all of Europe say, supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia,''  the French Foreign Minister said.
