Cyprus supports Armenia’s EU move, says Speaker Demetriou

Cyprus supports stronger ties between Armenia and the EU, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Annita Demetriou said on Monday in Yerevan.

“We welcome and fully support the deepening of relations between Armenia and the European Union, because Armenia belongs in the EU. I reiterate to my friend, Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan that we will support this process and initiative in every way. We stand by your side on the path towards Europe,” Demetriou said at a joint press conference with Speaker Alen Simonyan. 

Earlier in March, the Armenian parliament adopted the bill on EU integration.
