Pashinyan, Macron discuss bilateral ties, regional and global issues

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with the President of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macron in Tirana, his office has said in a readout.

The two leaders highly appreciated the dynamic development of Armenia-France relations, emphasizing that high-level contacts and constructive political dialogue contribute to the expansion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

They discussed a number of issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as regional and international developments. According to the source, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of signing the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement and taking continuous and consistent steps in that direction.

President Macron reaffirmed France’s firm support for the peace process, noting that stability and security in the South Caucasus are vital for overall regional cooperation.

The further deepening of Armenia-European Union relations, as well as the advancement of Armenia’s democratic reform agenda, were also among the issues addressed.
