New Ambassador of China presents credentials to Armenian President

China's new ambassador to Armenia Li Xinwei presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan. 

The President congratulated the new ambassador and expressed hope that thanks to his work the cooperation between the two countries would enhance and encompass new areas.

“Armenia-China relations are among our foreign policy priorities,” the President said, according to a readout issued by his office. “Our friendly and traditional relations are also obligating us to further develop and enhance the centuries-old traditions of cooperation and create new opportunities for our countries and peoples to get to know each other better and for partnership and friendship.”

The Ambassador thanked for the reception and warm wishes, stressing that he would make every effort to enhance the Armenia-China partnership.

“Armenia is one of China’s important partners and I will do everything in my capacity for the further enhancement of cooperation of our countries,” the Ambassador said.

The sides discussed in detail the economic cooperation potential, emphasizing that steps are required to fully utilize the potential. The importance of continual and effective partnership on various levels was emphasized for creating solid grounds for deepening ties.

The President underscored the need for high-level contacts and active political dialogue as a key factor for strengthening bilateral ties. The development of parliamentary diplomacy was highlighted as a new platform for dialogue to expand cooperation in various areas.

The sides were pleased to note the existing direct flights between Armenia and China as a practical step contributing to the deepening of political, economic, cultural and tourism ties.
