The government is certain that it will secure the economic growth projected in its 2025 budget, finance minister Vahe Hovhannisyan has said.
Speaking at a press conference, Hovhannisyan said projections made by various organizations are based on various scenarios and various assumptions.
Asked about the relaunch of the Amulsar gold mine, the finance minister said it would positively impact the economy.
“The launch of Amulsar can have positive impact. If the work starts this year it could have around 0,5% impact on the GDP growth,” he said.
Hovhannisyan said the Armenian economic growth is returning to its potential growth, which amounts to 5-5,5%.
“I think we’ll be able to achieve what we had placed in the budget as the economic growth indicator.”
The Amulsar gold mine relaunch is expected by yearend.
The impact depends when the mine would start giving results, Hovhannisyan said.
