Armenia’s foreign trade turnover drops in first quarter of 2025

Armenia's foreign trade turnover in the first quarter of 2025 was 54.2 percent lower than in the same period last year, amounting to $4 billion 480.1 million, according to the summary published by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

In March, compared to February, a 21.4 percent increase was recorded. However, compared to March 2024, the volume of foreign trade turnover was 31.8 percent lower, amounting to $1 billion 674.8 million.

In February, compared to January, the volume decreased by 3.2 percent, and by 60.7 percent compared to February of the previous year, amounting to $1 billion 379.8 million.

In January, trade turnover declined by 24.5 percent compared to December, and by 37.9 percent year-on-year, totaling $1 billion 425.5 million.

Exports in the first quarter were 61.8 percent lower than in the same period of the previous year, amounting to $1 billion 699.8 million.

In March, exports grew by 20.2 percent month-on-month but were 65.4 percent lower than in March 2024, totaling $643.5 million.

In February, exports increased by 2.8 percent compared to January, but were 67.3 percent lower than a year earlier, amounting to $535.4 million.

In January, exports were 31.2 percent lower than in December and 45.2 percent lower than in January of the previous year, totaling $520.9 million.

Imports in the first quarter were 47.9 percent lower than in the same period of the previous year, amounting to $2 billion 780.3 million.

In March, imports increased by 22.1 percent compared to February, but were 51.2 percent lower than in March of the previous year, totaling $1 billion 31.3 million.

In February, imports decreased by 6.7 percent compared to January and by 55 percent compared to February of the previous year, amounting to $844.4 million.

In January, imports were down by 20.1 percent from December and 32.8 percent year-on-year, totaling $904.6 million.
