Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has issued a message on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
“On Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, we honor the 1.5 million Armenians senselessly killed in a horrific genocide 110 years ago. I had the solemn honor of visiting the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial in 2022 to pay respects to the victims of this atrocity,” Pelosi said in a post on X.
She noted that it is essential to continue shining a bright light on this dark chapter of history.
“In 2019, the Democratic House formally recognized the Armenian Genocide—an historic and long-overdue acknowledgment of truth and a lasting commitment to human rights,” she posted.
