Catholicos of All Armenians receives representatives of Brazilian media

His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received representatives of the Brazilian media at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on April 23. They were accompanied by the President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Armenia, Vazgen Yacoubian, the Mother See has said in a press release.

During the meeting, Mr. Yacoubian noted that the annual visit of Brazilian media representatives to Armenia, organized by the AGBU Brazil Office, has become a tradition. The goal of the visit is to familiarize the participants with the history, spiritual, and cultural heritage of the Armenian people and to inform the broader Brazilian public about the current situation in the country.

His Holiness expressed appreciation to the AGBU Brazil Office for this initiative, emphasizing the importance of conveying the truth about Armenia on international media platforms. Topics such as Armenia’s security issues, the occupation of Artsakh, the just rights of Artsakh Armenians, the prisoners held in Baku, and the destruction of Armenian spiritual and cultural values were discussed.

The meeting also addressed the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church in preserving national identity, the Church’s social support programs for Armenians from Artsakh, as well as inter-church relations.
