US President Donald Trump has expressed hope that Russia and Ukraine could reach a peace agreement this week.
“HOPEFULLY RUSSIA [and] UKRAINE WILL MAKE A DEAL THIS WEEK,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account on Sunday. “BOTH WILL THEN START TO DO BIG BUSINESS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WHICH IS THRIVING, AND MAKE A FORTUNE!”
Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced an Easter truce with Ukraine.
The 30-hour truce expired at midnight on Monday. The Kremlin confirmed there were no plans for an extension, and both sides have accused each other of breaching the agreement, according to RT.
