Armenia lauds Slovenia’s stance regarding finalization of draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan

Yerevan highly values Slovenia’s stance regarding the finalization of the draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at a joint press conference with Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon in Yerevan.

Mirzoyan said issues pertaining to the South Caucasus region were discussed during the meeting with Fajon.

“We also discussed our regional issues. At times of global uncertainties, cooperation between likeminded partners, strong commitment to unconditional adherence to norms of international law, the right selection of priorities is important more than ever, and in this regard we can consider the partnership between Armenia and Slovenia to be even exemplary,” Mirzoyan said.

Mirzoyan said he lauded Slovenia’s stance regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization.

“I expressed gratitude and appreciation for Slovenia’s position, the statement regarding the finalization of the text of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Of course, I also presented to my colleague the latest developments in this process. We hope that Armenia’s agenda of peace will eventually start to bear tangible fruits,” Mirzoyan said.

FM Mirzoyan reiterated Armenia’s readiness to swiftly start consultations with Azerbaijan to determine the date and venue for signing the peace agreement.
