There will be no war, there will be peace - PM Pashinyan

Armenia will not deviate from the agenda of peace and reiterates political commitment to ensure stability in the region, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament.
“Despite all difficulties, the government and me personally will not deviate from the agenda of peace. It is obvious that some forces both within and beyond Armenia are carrying out daily propaganda of war and resorting to concrete actions aimed at implementing it. Azerbaijan’s war narrative stands out from these actions, its actions parallel to the narrative, manifested with false accusations of ceasefire violations addressed to Armenia, as well as frequent, if not daily ceasefire violations committed by the Azerbaijani military. These violations are mostly of untargeted nature, despite two specific cases of targeting the Khnatsakh village in Syunik province were recorded in the past one month,” Pashinyan said.
The untargeted gunshots by the Azeri military have been heard in several towns of Armenia.
“These gunshots are either the result of indiscipline within the Azeri armed forces, or pursue the goal of exerting psychological pressure against the population of the abovementioned towns. The Republic of Armenia is urging Azerbaijan to investigate the abovementioned cases and take measures to put an end to them,” Pashinyan said.
He reiterated that he has issued a clear order to the Armenian military to adhere to the ceasefire. Pashinyan said Armenia was ready to investigate reports of alleged ceasefire violations committed by the Armenian military.
“At the same time, I once again propose Azerbaijan to create a joint mechanism for investigating border incidents, including ceasefire violations, which would function on a daily basis,” Pashinyan said.
He responded to predictions made by some analysts about renewed war.
“There are no grounds for war. Armenia and Azerbaijan have recognized each other’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, inviolability of internationally recognized borders and the inadmissibility of the use of force or the threat of force. Based on these realities, I am calling upon all forces and individuals in Armenia and Azerbaijan to act extremely responsibly and not make statements that directly or indirectly contradict the above-mentioned logic, and not question this logic. It has no prospect. The peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan deserve peace and peaceful co-existence. There will be no war, there will be peace,” Pashinyan said.
