India supports Armenia - Azerbaijan peace agenda: Armenia and India Vice Speakers meet

The Armenian National Assembly Vice President Hakob Arshakyan met with the Deputy Chairperson of the Indian Parliament Harivansh Narayan Singh, the Parliament of Armenia has said in a readout.

The sides discussed a large scope of issues regarding the Armenian-Indian inter-parliamentary relations.

Hakob Arshakyan highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries, noting that they are based on the centuries-old history and mutual respect.

Highly appreciating the effective cooperation between the two parliaments, Vice President Arshakyan emphasized the Armenia-India Friendship Group operating under his leadership in the National Assembly.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Indian Parliament Harivansh Narayan Singh attached importance to the development of relations between Armenia and India, noting the special role of the steps aimed at forming the India-Armenia Friendship Group in further strengthening parliamentary ties and creating new perspectives.

Harivansh Narayan Singh highlighted the official visit of the delegation led by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan to India, underscoring the significance of the mutual visits in the development of the relations.

Hakob Arshakyan presented the process of the peaceful settlement of the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the Crossroads of Peace project.

The members of the Indian delegation expressed their support for the project, stressing that India supports the peace agenda.

The RA NA Vice President underlined that Armenia is interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with friendly India, and there is great potential in various spheres.

Hakob Arshakyan invited his colleague to Armenia.
