The newly acquired supercomputer will be installed at the Yerevan State University (YSU) and the supercomputing center will be functional by yearend, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan said on Thursday.
The Armenian government bought the supercomputer from NVIDIA.
Andreasyan said the supercomputer is not the same as the one installed at the Engineering City. The new one, which will be installed at the YSU, has more functional applications used for data analysis, visualization, high-performance calculation systems in healthcare, biomedical research and other areas.
Andreasyan said the new supercomputing center at the YSU will create serious opportunities in education and significantly increase the university’s global ranking.
