Yerevan City Hall presents $200 million green development project

Yerevan City Hall unveiled on Monday a $200 million green development program featuring the re-equipment of the capital’s bus fleet and expansion of green spaces.

Aneta Babayan, head of the municipal agency for construction and investment projects, said at a City Hall meeting on Monday that the program will be presented to the Cabinet for approval.

The program includes the acquisition of 250 new 18-meter-long electric buses, reconstruction and modernization of two bus depots, as well as the construction of a 230-ha city park, the Dalma Gardens. A highway will also be modernized under the project.

A part of the funds will be allocated by the Green Climate Fund.
