TelCell develops software solution to prevent coin theft from terminals
2 minute read

TelCell has released a new software solution to prevent the possible theft of coins from its terminals.
If a terminal experiences an issue with the coin acceptor, a warning message will now appear before a user inserts a coin: "Currently, it is not possible to make a coin payment with this terminal. Please use paper money or approach another TelCell payment terminal."
Recently, some individuals attempted to steal coins from TelCell terminals by manipulating the machines. When the machine tried to accept the coins, they inserted various objects into it and took the collected money. In other words, the customer dropped the coins into the machine but did not receive a ticket, as the money did not enter the system but remained at the collection point. Such cases were mainly recorded at terminals near bus stops, where more coins were collected.
Upon identifying the issue, TelCell's security team took prompt action, implementing the above mentioned software solution to address the problem.
TelCell urges individuals to refrain from such actions, as they are quickly detected.
Moreover, such activities create inconvenience and financial losses for law-abiding citizens.
