Trilateral working group to resume activity if Armenia and Azerbaijan submit corresponding request - Overchuk

The trilateral working group between Moscow, Yerevan, and Baku has not been dissolved and if Armenia and Azerbaijan submit a corresponding request, Russia would be glad to resume its work, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk stated, TASS reported.

The Russian deputy prime minister also emphasized the importance of direct contacts between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"As for the trilateral working group of deputy prime ministers (Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev), it was established by a joint statement of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

The Deputy PM noted that , currently, the working group is in a 'dormant' state.

Overchuk further noted that the trilateral working group has not been officially closed.

"If our partners reach out to us and we can be of assistance in any way, we would, of course, be happy to continue this work. But it depends on them," Overchuk emphasized.

The trilateral working group, co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan, was engaged with unblocking regional communications.

The parties have held several meetings in this format, but the process has recently been suspended.
