OSCE PA Special Representative on South Caucasus welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan peace talks progress

OSCE PA Special Representative on South Caucasus Luís Graça (Portugal) has welcomed the finalization of the text of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, commending both parties for their commitment to dialogue and reconciliation, the OSCE PA press service reported.

Graça encouraged both sides to build on this momentum and continue working towards a peaceful and co-operative future in a constructive and sincere manner.

“This progress marks a vital step toward lasting stability and peace in the region,” Graça was quoted as saying in a statement released by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s press service. “The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly remains ready to support initiatives that promote regional stability, confidence-building, and lasting reconciliation in the South Caucasus.”

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan announced on March 13 that the negotiations around the peace treaty terms have been successfully concluded. The Armenian government has expressed readiness to start discussions with Azerbaijan around the date and venue of signing the agreement.
