Armenia participates in CSW69 in New York

Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan is participating in the sixty-ninth session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York City.
The main focus of the sixty-ninth session is on the review and appraisal of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly. The review will include an assessment of current challenges that affect the implementation of the Platform for Action and the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women and its contribution towards the full realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women is taking place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 10 to 21 March 2025.
Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to attend the session.The Armenian delegation also includes Member of Parliament Arsen Torosyan and Coalition of Domestic Violence Support Centers Coordinator Nare Hayrapetyan.
Mkrtchyan will deliver a speech at the event, including during the ministerial roundtable, the ministry said in a press release.
A high-level event titled Demographic Change and Gender Equality will also take part during the session.
The Armenian delegation will hold bilateral meetings to develop cooperation in the labor and social security sectors, networking and discussing new joint projects.
