Armenia's new export strategy to focus on increasing quality of goods

Armenia is focused on increasing the quality of goods in developing the exports strategy, Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Hovakimyan has said. 

The strategy has already been developed pending approval.

He said that the EU partners have provided much support in the development.

“We’ve made the main emphasis on quality because we understand that in terms of exports the basis of the strategy must first of all be the increase of quality of goods and compliance with standards of several countries, otherwise exports will be continuously vulnerable,” he said at the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Partnership Committee meeting in Yerevan on February 25. 

In the context of increasing quality, the official said Armenia has been improving and raising the role of quality infrastructures as part of cooperation with the EU.
