Armenian, Iranian FMs discuss South Caucasus peace efforts

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has met with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Geneva. 

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UN Human Rights Council session.

The foreign ministers discussed the bilateral relations agenda. In a readout, the foreign ministry said the readiness for practical steps for continual development of cooperation between the two countries has been emphasized. The work and future programs in various sectors have been discussed.

Opportunities for partnership in various formats were also discussed.

The Armenian and Iranian foreign ministers also exchanged views around regional developments. “The efforts aimed at ensuring stability and lasting peace in the South Caucasus were also discussed,” the foreign ministry added.
