President of Cypriot House of Representatives reiterates support for Armenia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty

Armenian Ambassador to Cyprus Tigran Mkrtchyan has met with President of the Cypriot House of Representatives Annita Demetriou. 

The meeting was held on the occasion of Ambassador Mkrtchyan completing his tenure in Cyprus.

The Ambassador thanked Demetriou for her principled stance in issues pertaining to Armenia and the Armenian people, highlighted the development of relations with Cyprus on all levels, pointing out the parliamentary diplomacy. In this context the opportunities of organizing a visit to Armenia were discussed, the embassy said in a readout. 

The Ambassador also presented details about the recently adopted EU bill in Armenia.

He also presented Armenia’s steps aimed at signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

Demetriou said she has accepted an invitation to pay a visit to Armenia. The Speaker said that Armenia has strategic importance for Cyprus. The President of the Cypriot House of Representatives reiterated the unwavering support of Cyprus for Armenia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Demetriou thanked Armenia for always supporting Cyprus. 

Vartkes Mahdessian, a representative of the Armenian community in the Cypriot House of Representatives, also participated in the meeting.
