Armenia, United Arab Emirates to mutually recognize driver’s licenses

The Cabinet endorsed on Thursday the signing of a memorandum of understanding on exchange and mutual recognition of driver’s licenses between Armenia and the United Arab Emirates.

UAE citizens arriving in Armenia for non-residential purposes will be able to use their driver’s licenses without any additional exams, while those arriving for residence will benefit from simplified exchange procedures and will not have to pass exams.

The driver’s licenses will be mutually recognized without additional procedures.

Persons with residential permits in Armenia or the UAE will be able to exchange their driver’s license without exams.

According to the Armenian authorities, the move will contribute to development of cooperation between the two countries in the transportation sector, and secure more convenient conditions for UAE citizens living in Armenia or Armenian citizens living in UAE.
