Linz Open: Elina Avanesyan claims first-round victory

Armenian tennis player Elina Avanesyan, ranked world No. 41 in women’s tennis, began the WTA tournament in Linz with a victory.

In the first round of the tournament, which is taking place in Austria, Avanesyan faced world No. 53 Katerina Siniakova from the Czech Republic. The match, lasting over an hour and consisting of two sets, ended with Avanesyan’s 6-3, 6-2 win.

Avanesyan has been representing Armenia since August 2024.
