MEP Nathalie Loiseau calls on European Commission to support Armenia EU aspirations

Member of the European Parliament Nathalie Loiseau (France) wants to ascertain that the European Commission is fully aware of Armenia’s European aspirations and is committed to support it.

The MEP made the remarks at the Foreign Affairs Committee session attended by Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

“I’d like to underscore the Armenian people’s European aspirations. Recently we saw that a petition in Armenia garnered mass signatures, we heard the Armenian Prime Minister say that the Armenian parliament will adopt a bill about the country’s European aspirations, and I’d like to be certain that the Commission is fully aware about this reality, is fully committed to support Armenia and also fully realizes the threats that Azerbaijan continues to make against Armenia,” MEP Nathalie Loiseau said. She expressed deep concern over the latest statements by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
