South Caucasus security important for Iran – says Tehran

YEREVAN, JANUARY 13, ARMENPRESS. Iran is using all possible capabilities to preserve and promote security in the South Caucasus, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has said after Iranian security council secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian’s visits to Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Baghaei said that security in the South Caucasus is important for Iran.

“That’s why the Islamic Republic is using all possible capacities to ensure that security in the region is maintained and promoted,” he said at a press conference. 

The spokesperson added that the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan are important for Iran.
