Civil Contract plans to expand use of primaries

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has described the recent primaries in Gyumri as an important step towards strengthening the democratic institutions in Armenia, albeit the elections were held in a crisis situation. 

Speaking at the Cabinet meeting, PM Pashinyan said the preliminary election institute is “extremely important, which further strengthens democracy in our country.”

Noting that the Civil Contract party wants to strengthen and further use the concept of primaries, Pashinyan said they “have an idea on what incentives shall be created for other parties to use this method in similar conditions as well.”
