Armenia monitors developments in Syria: MFA

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation in Syria through the channels of the Armenian diplomatic service.

In an interview with Armenpress, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ani Badalyan, reiterated an earlier statement confirming that no Armenian citizens are among the victims of the ongoing events in Syria.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following the developments in Syria through the channels of the Armenian diplomatic service. As we have reported, we can also confirm at this time that no Armenian citizens are among the victims. The Armenian Embassy in Damascus is operating in emergency mode,” Ani Badalyan stated.

According to Badalyan, the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo, that left for Damascus on November 26 to receive credentials from the Syrian Foreign Ministry, was subsequently unable to return to Aleppo and continues to operate from Damascus.

"Depending on the further developments of the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make appropriate decisions," the spokesperson concluded.
