YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. The Greco-Roman wrestling team of the Armenian Armed Forces captured the third place in the team ranking at the 37th CISM World Military Wrestling Championships in Yerevan. Armenia’s freestyle wrestling team finished 6th.
Russia and Iran won the 1st and 2nd places in the Greco-Roman and freestyle categories respectively.
Armenia won 14 medals at the 37th CISM World Military Wrestling Championships in Yerevan.
The Armenian team won 3 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Gaspar Terteryan (67kg), Suren Aghajanyan (60kg) and Andranik Avetisyan (65kg) won gold.
Tigran Minasyan (55kg), Sargis Begoyan (61kg) and Elen Babajanyan (53kg women's division) won silver.
Ashot Khachatryan (77kg), Shant Khachatryan (72kg), Hrachya Poghosyan (63kg), Samvel Grigoryan (82kg), Hrayr Alikhanyan (74kg), Arman Avagyan (79kg), Karen Khachatryan (87kg) and Mushegh Mkrtchyan (92kg) won bronze.
November 22 marked the final day of the championship.
