Russia sees prerequisites for improvement in South Caucasus situation

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Moscow sees prerequisites for improvement in South Caucasus despite the situation still being difficult, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Sergei Shoygu has said.

Shoygu made the remarks at a meeting of security council secretaries of the CIS countries in Moscow.

Armenia was represented at the meeting by Ambassador Gurgen Arsenyan.

“Regarding regional security in South Caucasus, the situation remains difficult, but there are prerequisites for its improvement. This is obstructed by external actors, first of all Western countries, who, to say the least, pursue unfriendly goals. This once again confirms the narrative that regional issues require regional solutions,” TASS news agency quoted Shoygu as saying.
