YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Russia is doing everything to normalize the Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and to achieve the signing of a peace treaty between the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

“Our cooperation with Armenia and Azerbaijan is built in the same spirit,” Putin said at a ceremony where the new Armenian Ambassador Gurgen Arsenyan presented his credentials. “We have done and are still doing everything to normalize the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and ensure sustainable peace in the South Caucasus. We will continue to support the work around the peace treaty, the delimitation of the state border and unblocking of economic and transport connections, in line with the 2020-2022 high-level trilateral agreements.”

Putin highlighted the latest “useful” meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the BRICS summit in Russia.
