Minister Zhanna Andreasyan and newly appointed German Ambassador discuss education-related issues

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan, met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia, Claudia Bush.

 Deputy Minister Artur Martirosyan also attended the meeting.

According to the ministry's statement, Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the ambassador and congratulated her on taking up the important role, expressing confidence that her work would contribute to the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Germany, as well as cooperation in education, science, culture, sports, and youth. The minister emphasized the already existing effective collaboration with leading German companies and educational institutions.

Ambassador Claudia Bush thanked the minister for the warm reception and expressed her commitment to deepening relations between Armenia and Germany. She highlighted the potential for expanding cooperation in the fields of education, science, language teaching, and culture, particularly emphasizing the significance of cultural education.

The ambassador stated that 42,000 students in Armenia are studying German and noted with satisfaction the growing interest in the language. In this context, both parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint programs within the dual education system. They also highlighted the operation of the Goethe Center in Yerevan.

The discussion further covered the organization of seminars, consultations, and mutual visits aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching German as a foreign language.

Zhanna Andreasyan presented the implementation process of the "Academic City" strategic plan to the ambassador, emphasizing the collaboration with prestigious German institutions in this context. She also highlighted the wide potential for cooperation in the field of culture, particularly in cinema, music, and museums.

During the meeting, other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
