Seven tourism clusters to be established in Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited Jermuk in the Vayots Dzor region on October 19, where he participated in the presentation of the Armenian Federation of Tourism's 2024-2029 strategy.

According to the ministry, the event was also attended by the Vayots Dzor governor, the head of the Jermuk community, and representatives from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

During the discussion, it was emphasized that Jermuk is one of Armenia's key tourist destinations, and steps should be taken to enhance the city's recognition and attractiveness to draw more visitors.

Minister Papoyan delivered a speech in which he outlined recent legislative changes in Armenia's tourism sector. He also highlighted the state's significant investments in tourism infrastructure, noting plans to establish seven tourism clusters in the near future, with three of them located in the Vayots Dzor region- in Jermuk city, Yeghegis and Areni communities.
