Armenian Speaker of Parliament meets with President of the Senate of the Czech Republic

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 18, ARMENPRESS. As part of his official visit to the Czech Republic, Armenian Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan met with the President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vistarčil.

In discussions held in an extended format, the interlocutors addressed various issues related to the broad agenda of Armenian-Czech relations.

According to a statement issued by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the discussions mainly focused on deepening and developing cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and the Czech Republic.

The President of the Senate emphasized that deepening relations with Armenia is important for the Czech Republic, especially in light of Armenia's expressed readiness to strengthen ties with the European Union.

In response, Parliament Speaker Simonyan thanked the Czech side for its willingness to contribute to the EU rapprochement process and for its positive stance on the matter.

The discussions also touched upon the current situation in the region, the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, and the issue of repatriating Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Armenian National Assembly President left a note in the Senate's Book of Honorary Guests.
