Simonyan, Indian Lok Sabha Speaker discuss cooperation, regional situation

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 16, ARMENPRESS. Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan in Geneva met with Om Birla, the Speaker of the Indian Parliament’s Lok Sabha (lower house). 

The sides discussed a broad range of topics of mutual interest and highlighted the deepening Armenian-Indian ties and its importance for the two countries, the parliament’s press service said in a readout.

The discussions focused on the parliamentary cooperation and actions for strengthening and further developing the friendly relations between Armenia and India. 

The situation in the region and issues pertaining to the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan were also discussed.
