YEREVAN, OCTOBER 15, ARMENPRESS. A celebratory concert dedicated to Charles Aznavour's 100th anniversary took place in Astana, marking the beginning of events for the Days of Armenian Culture in Kazakhstan.
The solemn concert, held at the Kazakh National Music and Drama Theater after Kalibek Kuanyshbaev, was attended by the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is in Astana on an official visit, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, and other officials who accompanied the Armenian president also attended the meeting.
At the start of the event, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan delivered a speech welcoming the attendees and expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan for hosting the Days of Armenian Culture. According to the minister, cultural cooperation between the two countries continues to develop, covering almost all areas of the arts.
"I am confident that our cooperation will continue in new formats, further enhancing cultural ties between our two peoples and contributing to the prosperity and well-being of Armenia and Kazakhstan," said Zhanna Andreasyan, once again expressing gratitude to Kazakhstan for hosting the Days of Armenian Culture.
Kazakh Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva, welcomed the guests and attendees, expressing her delight that the Days of Armenian Culture had finally come to Kazakhstan. The minister warmly congratulated "the fraternal people of Armenia," adding that the rich culture of the Armenian people is close to the Kazakh people's heart, as both nations share a sense of unity.
"I am sure that the Days of Armenian Culture will be a new impetus for the further development of the cultural and spiritual values of the two countries," concluded Balayeva, wishing both the participants and the audience creative inspiration and unforgettable impressions.
A photo exhibition showcasing the life and work of Sergey Parajanov, organized by the Parajanov Museum, was inaugurated in the foyer of the theater named after K. Kuanyshbaev. The concert primarily featured songs from the chansonnier, but also included performances of compositions by Komitas and Arno Babajanyan.
