YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. At the narrow-format session of the CIS Council of Heads of State, a productive conversation took place regarding the early peaceful settlement in the South Caucasus, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev said during a briefing with journalists.
According to him, all the heads of CIS states expressed their wishes for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
"I was pleased to hear that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan shared rather optimistic forecasts, expressing their readiness for a quick settlement.
Of course, no specific dates were mentioned. You understand that this is a complex issue, but everyone at the session expressed hope that the peace process will be concluded in the near future," said Lebedev.
