YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has met with the new French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot within the framework of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York City.
FM Mirzoyan congratulated Jean-Noël Barrot on his appointment and wished him success in his important mission, the foreign ministry said in a readout.
A broad range of issues on the Armenia-France cooperation agenda was discussed: bilateral ties, the Armenia-EU partnership's new agenda, as well as regional developments.
The joint steps aimed at enhancing cooperation in all directions of mutual interest were discussed.
“The relationship of Armenia and France is developing with a new content, and we are moving towards building relations of strategic nature,” Mirzoyan said.
Ideas were exchanged on the security situation, challenges in and around the South Caucasus and steps aimed at establishing sustainable peace in the region.
