Number of Armenian citizenship applications from NK forcibly displaced persons grows

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. 4,473 forcibly displaced persons of Nagorno-Karabakh applied for Armenian citizenship in the period of October 26, 2023 – September 10, 2024, the Migration Service has said.
Migration Service Director Armen Ghazaryan told Armenpress that there’ve been no denial of applications in the abovementioned period.
On October 26, 2023, the Armenian government granted the forcibly displaced persons of Nagorno-Karabakh temporary protection status.
The statistics shows that the dynamics of applications has been growing.
433 persons applied for citizenship from October 26 to December 31 of 2023. Another 991 applied for citizenship in the first quarter of this year, and 1,187 in the second quarter. Another 1,781 persons applied for citizenship from July 1 until September 10.
