No force is capable of disrupting Armenia-Iran land connection - Secretary of Security Council

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, has met with Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani.

In a readout, the Iranian embassy said that Ambassador Sobhani “underscored Iran’s stance regarding the unchangeability of international borders, opposition to any geopolitical change, as well as its support to neighbors’ territorial integrity.”

Grigoryan thanked the Ambassador for Iran’s support for Armenia’s territorial integrity and its stance towards the unchangeability of international borders. 

The Secretary of the Security Council underscored that the Armenia-Iran border is a border of peace, friendship and peaceful coexistence. Armenia attaches special importance to the relations with Iran and no force is capable of disrupting the land connection of Iran and Armenia. 

Grigoryan said that any unblocking in Armenian territory will take place under Armenian control and sovereignty. He reiterated that Armenia opposes any unblocking in the logic of an extraterritorial corridor. 

Bilateral relations, as well as regional issues, were also discussed.
