Pashinyan orders inquiry into frequent power outages

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told government officials Thursday he expects explanations about the frequent power outages across the country.

“I regret to say that there are numerous complaints in all provinces of the country about the quality of power supply. Complaints are heard in Yerevan, in the culture and sports sectors, in agriculture. And the fact that we once had a power outage during a Cabinet meeting should have been a signal for all of us that something isn’t right,” Pashinyan said.

He said he would soon hold a meeting to find out the reasons behind the outages.

Pashinyan instructed the Public Services Regulatory Commission and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures to develop a plan on how to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
